Karl’s boating experience started at his family’s summer bungalow on the Barnegat Bay in the Forked River area of NJ when he was 10 years old. The family owned a 14’ runabout with a small Evinrude outboard engine. Many summer days were spent just fishing, crabbing, clamming, water skiing, snorkeling, and swimming.
In his thirties, Karl was invited to crew for weekend sail boat races out of the Toms River Yacht Club on his friends’ Ranger 23 and then later on his other friends’ J22. That is when he was introduced to sailing and developed a love for it.
Although his years in the marine industry were dedicated to the design and engineering efforts of power boats he still remained a loyal sailing enthusiast. He has designed over 45 different boats for companies such as Silverton, Mainship, Luhrs, Wellcraft, and Pursuit. It’s almost natural that with his boating knowledge a sales career would be the next step to an already well rounded marine career.
Being part of SouthEast Sailing and Yachts is exciting and Karl looks forward to working with people that are highly professional and service minded. His goal will be to match customers with the perfect boat of their dreams and help them live that dream for many years to come.
