Crash Dummy Test
Hunter has been trying for years to get some video footage of Steve Pettengill testing a New Hunter. As you have heard, he actually runs the boat aground a half dozen times in forward and also in reverse while an engineer is stationed down below watching & listening for flexing or weak points. Finally you can watch the video footage. Please see the video above. A couple of things to note while watching; notice Steve checking the steering after he runs aground and if you watch closely after he runs aground you will see the engineer emerge from down below. Prior to this testing three days earlier, Steve took the boat out in a thunder storm off of St. Augustine, FL. A Hunter Rep happened to be driving to St. Augustine that same afternoon and drove through the storm which included several trees down just outside of St. Augustine from a tornado that swept through.
